Update as of 3-27-2020

Though farther apart,
we’re all in this
together!

During this time of social distancing, the following are a few ways you can help:

  • SEND cards to those who are “shut-in” (homes, nursing homes, etc.)
  • CALL those who are not able to get out and ask if they need groceries or medicine picked up, etc.
  • CALL a different person each day to check on them and visit over the phone.
  • POST a favorite Scripture on social media.
  • PRAY… post your prayer online, organize a prayer meeting over the phone, via Skype, Facetime, etc.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update as of 3-18-2020

In light of the current federal recommendations (of no gatherings greater than 10), we are continuing our vigilance and meeting by phone or video until further notice (no in-person gatherings).

This includes all small groups, children’s programs, youth group, church services, and special events.

For the next few weeks we will be sharing our worship service on Facebook Live and the website (www.eastviewwesleyan.com).  Also from time to time we will share other inspirational moments, Scripture, and prayer throughout the week on Facebook and the website, so check back often!

We are suspending regular church office hours effective Friday, March 20, and will be working remotely from home.  You can still call us at 765-674-7076 and someone will be happy to assist you.

Additional information will be provided later this week.

If you know someone who may not be able to access this announcement via email, Facebook or our website, please spread the word.

Please continue to pray for our leaders, medical professionals, and those at high risk.

Coronavirus Update as of 3-12-2020

The World Health Organization has now declared the virus a pandemic.

This description does not change the world’s response; it just confirms the state of the health crisis.

What are we doing?

  • We have wiped down every surface (at both campuses) with disinfectant wipes and have sprayed all cloth surfaces with Lysol.
  • We are cancelling ALL Sunday School classes and Growth Groups (except for youth group and children’s classes) for the next two weeks
  • We are implementing a “no touch” policy… please wave “hi” instead of using handshakes, fist bumps, or hugs.
  • We encourage you to stay home if you are sick and watch the services on Facebook Live.
  • We encourage you to stay home if you are in the high-risk category (older adults, people who have serious chronic medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease) and watch the services on Facebook Live.  If you do not have access to Facebook Live, please contact us to see if we can help with that.
  • We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
  • We ask that you communicate this information with everyone you know (especially those who may not have email).

What should our response be?

  • Obey the directions of our government and our health organizations.
  • Pray for our leaders, health workers, and emergency services for they are under extreme pressure, and it appears that it will only become more significant.
  • Pray for a cure and the process of bringing a vaccine to distribution for the whole world.
  • Pray for those countries and states that are most effected by the virus.
  • Pray that through this crisis, people will consider their spiritual destiny and that many would have their eye opened to the peace that comes from knowing Jesus as Savior and Lord.
  • Don’t just think of your needs but rather be generous to the needs of those around you.
  • Finally, while these are troubling times, remember that there is a hope that goes beyond this world and is found in the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 14:27 (ESV) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

My prayer for you is this that in the midst of all this you will find and experience the presence and peace of God.
